Reflections – 10 Parishes Festival 2023
Innes Davis - Green Fields painting

Innes Davis – Exmoor Explored

Discipline: Painting/Drawing

Innes lives and works on the edge of Exmoor, which is a major focus for her painting. She paints in a variety of mediums, including oils, acrylics and watercolour, inspired by the variety of landscapes on the moor.

Innes began painting only some 8 years ago after retiring from work as a teacher, and is self-taught. She has exhibited four times in the 10 Parishes Festival, as well as in solo exhibitions locally and in London, and sells directly, online and through galleries, in addition to commissioned work. The National Trust has been a major customer.

Innes also paints wildlife, horses, dogs, and other pets, as well as occasional portraits, mainly as commissions.

She now very much enjoys sharing what she has learned through giving demonstrations and visiting art groups, and continues to experiment with different techniques and approaches. She likes the challenge of large statement pieces, as well as working on much smaller paintings, and is never without inspiration from the local landscape and further afield.
