We ventured eastwards on Friday to the launch of Wells Art Contemporary. It runs until 12th August in the Cathedral and our recommendation is that you GO!
Wells Art Contemporary is an open competition for UK and International visual art that has gained praise and respect in the UK and abroad. Established in 2012 by a group of artists and their friends in Wells, WAC is dedicated to promoting and supporting innovative and challenging visual artists at all stages of their career.
1,800 entries were received by 890 entrants and 98 works have been chosen for display within the cloisters, cathedral and grounds for the first time.
We were delighted to see that a 10 Parishes Festival exhibitor, Philip Davies had two entries on display, a superb achievement – le gilet jaune and girls with balls. We look forward to seeing Philip’s works during the 10 Parishes Festival at Huish Moor during the early part and at Ford for the final weekend of 14th and 15th September.
