Opening Weekend at 10 Parishes Festival

The 10 Parishes Festival opens today with artists opening their doors and showcasing their talent in Ashbrittle, Bathealton, Chipstable, Clatworthy, Huish Champflower, Milverton, Stawley, Waterrow and Wiveliscombe.

Reuse and Recycle

Over 60 artists are participating, some of whom will produce work based on the Festival theme, Reuse and Recycle. Look out for the huge plastic-bag-lady created by Jenni Dutton who will lead the carnival parade tomorrow afternoon (Sunday) at 3pm, as part of Wiveliscombe’s Market Day.

Many studios open from 11am, running through in most cases until 6pm. The Guide will highlight those offering refreshments and also whether easier for accessibility. Guides are available in Wiveliscombe and at all the venues.

Stawley Mill

Today (Saturday) sees two events in Stawley. A Flower Festival in the Church will help raise funds for a restoration project. Stawley Mill will have open gardens and teas. Tonight will feature an evening of musical entertainment with food and bar – booking required, tickets £15 from 01823 672183 or Stawley Village Shop.

Another highlight of today (Saturday 7th) is the Wiveliscombe Town Walk with archaeologist Bob Croft. Meet in the town square at 2pm, cost of £2.
