Over fifty artists, performers and event organisers crowded into Wiveliscombe Community Centre for the launch meeting last night of the 10 Parishes Festival 2013.
“It was terrific, a really good start to organising this year’s Festival,” said Director Pauline Homeshaw, who outlined the host of activities being planned for September in Wiveliscombe and surrounding parishes – including art exhibitions and events in homes and venues, a buzzing Street Market and colourful community Carnival.
Artists and organisers were urged to start finalising venues and registering their events – with a deadline of March 31st. Carnival organiser Mark Blaker appealed for people interested in helping the Carnival blossom further, while the Friends of the Festival also appealed for new members to join in supporting this community event.
The Festival runs from 7th to 15th September 2013 and past events have seen thousands of people visiting the area and over £3,500 raised for charity last year. If you would like to exhibit, perform, support, plan or join in – just email info@10parishesfestival.org.uk
Look forward to hearing from you!
