Welcome to the opening day of the 10 Parishes Festival!
Over the next nine days there will be artist open studios, live music and drama performances and community events. Here are some highlights for Saturday 9th September.
Ashbrlttle Big Sing – join in with Yvette Staelens in Ashbrittle Village Hall (TA21 0LF) tonight at 7.30pm. You can park near the village green, take a bottle and an enthusiasm for singing!
Also tonight, The Soldier’s Tale, drama at Wellhayes Vineyard Clayhanger EX16 7NY. Limited tickets left – phone 01398 361612
Head to Milverton for the interactive photobooth which will move around the village, encouraging people to tell their stories, have their photo taken and become part of the living archive on Alive in Milverton. (Children must be accompanied by an adult).
Silents in the Hills returns to Wiveliscombe Primary School at 7pm with Sjostrom’s ‘Phantom Carriage’ with live music by Jan Kopinksi and Steve Illife. Info from Barry Witherden on 01984 629114.
Taunton Thespians return to the festival with a Shakespeare Sampler – a sample of pieces presented as a rehearsed reading. Cotleigh Brewery, Wiveliscombe at 7.30pm
Wiveliscombe Town Walk sets of this afternoon at 2pm- a gentle two hour walk with county archaeologist Bob Croft. £2.
